Nobel Peace Prize Relevancy and How I’ll Change

The Nobel Piece Prize is an award given to people who have given or made “peace” for others. This prize is still relevant due to a few reasons, it can be awarded anytime, and the elections happen fifty years prior to the year of which they are awarded. This means fifty years ago they chose who will the get the prize right now. The majority of this award are found in America, and one person who has it is Martin Luther King Jr. These are some reasons the Nobel Peace Prize is relevant to us in the modern day, because a lot of these people founded rights and morals that we now share.

As for how I think ill change in the next ten years, I think the video was interesting saying most people would choose not to see their old favorite band, but reasonably so. Maybe their favorite band isn’t together anymore, like there are some variables to this whole thing. I think I will still be the exact same person just you know, bigger. As for when I am ten years older and when I look back I feel like it’ll be the exact same. The reason being is I haven’t changed so far except for the kinds of things I like as  I experience them.

What I am thankful for

I am thankful for my family, whatever friends I do have, and lastly not to be poor or underprivileged. I am happy to have a family for obvious reasons, they care for me, I care for them, and we live. Its kind of just how it works for me. I am thankful for my friends if that is what I choose to call them, even when they make me mad or I make them mad we always end up friends again and making each other laugh through all the awful times. Finally I am thankful for the opportunity of being able to learn. Without school I would be a tiny bit more stupid. Also the opportunity of having anything I want as long as I can work, because in America you can do anything if you work hard enough for it. Some specific people I want to thank is my mom, and dad, and my best friend Dylan.

Maycomb Tribune

Is racism wrong? Are African Americans equal to whites? Do you think so? Maycomb County as we all know has its groups of people wanting to lynch blacks, but for what reason? Some do it because of the black being accused of a crime with no evidence. That just happens to be the case this time.

Sunday night, the day before Tom Robinson’s trial a group attempted to lynch him before his trial therefore he would have no chance in court. The mob was stopped before they were able to lynch Tom. They were stopped by Tom’s lawyer Atticus Finch. The intent of the white men were to kill Robinson but they were not charged with anything. I saw all of this from across the street where it was taking place.

With the information I have I can say I see why the men would want Tom dead. He is accused for raping a white woman, which white men also claim to be wrong. Not the rape but having any relationship with white women. They have their right to be mad, but they should not continue to kill people who could be innocent. If we were being fair, we would allow this man to get a fair trial, with diversity. But instead most of the town wants this man to hang before he has a chance to be proven innocent.

Some of the things that went on tonight, completely proving these statements that I have made, are like how the group of men surrounded Tom, and how only one man defended him.

We can fix the mistakes we have made in the prejudice against Tom still; to fix this problem we need to treat him fairly. Give him a chance in court to prove himself not guilty and to show that black men aren’t who whites put them out to be.

Emmett Till’s case reopening?

What controversial decision did Mamie Mobley make regarding her son’s funeral?

Mamie Mobley made a controversial decision with her now dead son’s body, to have it displayed over a range of states. This decision led to the civil rights movement being pushed forward even more.

What credentials do Mr. Beauchamp and Mr. Nelson have, respectively?

Both of these men made films one unfinished one an award winner. Therefore they both had some knowledge of Emmet Till with research of their respective movies/documentaries. Both of the men were fascinated with the case and so acted upon by requesting for the case to be reopened.

What did Mr. Beauchamp have to say about Mr. Nelson, and vice-versa?

Mr. Beauchamp said there was a competitive issue between the two being the films they both were creating were competing. He also said that “he didn’t want to say anything bad” that’s all. As for Mr. Nelson said “I’ve met him”.

What scares me most?

My biggest fear would be another war between continents. Especially with these candidates for 2016 I feel like they would relinquish the country to save themselves. America would be unbridled, we’d have to salvage whatever we could from the war. Just doesn’t sound like a good time to me. We’d be living in debris, no homes to keep us safe instead we would be doing whatever it takes to keep ourselves alive. I think it is safe to say I think the scariest catastrophe that could happen would be another huge world war that would devastate this giant country once again.

America is Materialistic.

You can tell my bias by the title of this post, and that’s that I think America is materialistic. Although our country’s economy is in muddle, a lot of the country still lives in luxury. With what ever they please, don’t get me wrong people do have dilemmas in America. Just a lot less than a third world country in Africa. People in America try to efface the fact that they have everything, they then just try to make up insignificant problems to feel normal. Even though there Americans’ problems aren’t even cumbersome compared to other countries that are in war right now. That little rant now leads me to why I think we are materialistic. I think we are materialistic because we are in debt due to spending money on objects. A lot of entrepreneurs do morally wrong things to get profit. They’re basically brigands of the new age stealing money and use it for their own gain. I say the government should commandeer Americans to give back forcefully. My view maybe opinionated, but I think its reasonable.

Mixtape of my Life?

As a small lil’ child I listened to a lot of the music my sister listened to because she hogged the radio and my Ipod 2nd generation needed headphones which I didn’t own. So I listened to lot of her favorites like Mayday Parade, Say anything, Justin Bieber, and Paramore. Now that I’m the only kid in my house now I blare my music so I think I would have a few songs that I could say is my “Mixtape of my life”. One of those songs is Move Along, by the All American Rejects. I used to listen to this song a lot and I really just liked it. Another song I would say is my “Mixtape of my life” is Cold Water by Major Lazer and Justin Bieber. Justin went from my least favorite to enjoyable. So those songs would be the mixtape of my life.

My first crush.

My first crush was a girl named Caitlyn. It was in first grade, she was shorter than me. We talked a lot. She played soccer, and her mother worked at the school. Her mom taught pre school and we hung out after school occasionally. On the playground we’d run around with our group of friends doing stupid stuff together. She also had longer blonde hair and blue eyes. Eventually later that year, we couldn’t go on the playground cause it was like in the fall/winter months so it snowed and rained a lot. So when we had recess we stayed inside and played board games and other inside activities together. I haven’t seen her in a long time, didn’t talk to her after first grade if that says anything. Still my first crush though either way.
